The Dogs
I’ve done a few dog portraits. Some have been gifts, some commissions, some have been both. Each one is a unique experience for me and a beloved keepsake for the dog’s owner.

“Underconstruction drape”, Acrylic on Canvas Drop Cloth, 4′ x 8.5′, 2014 The impetus for this piece came out of my need to blockout an odd and ugly exit that was next to my bed. First there was a door, then a window. I didn’t like either of them. Ultimately my solution was the cover the wall space completely!
“Golden Light”, Watercolor and Chalk Pastel on Arches Paper, 22″ x 30″, 2013 Inspired by the amazing golden light of the pre-dusk afternoons on the Mendocino Coast and infused with an appreciation of Rothko’s simplicity.
“Time 2 Ride”, Assemblage of Found Objects & Handmade Lettering on Paper, 54″ x 26″, 2010 This piece was basically a Valentine’s Day card to my husband, Charlie. He found the fence board, bike parts and old clock, and he loved mountain biking. I just put all the pieces together, gave it a theme and gave it back to him. Fun project!
